If you are looking to host an internship at your arts, cultural or heritage organisation AmbITion Scotland have funding available to support interns’ travel and subsistence costs. Interested in accessing this? Contact AmbITion Scotland Project Manager, Ashley Smith Hammond.
We are committed to helping organisations maximise the opportunities available through working with students and have a number of resources to support organisations who are considering bringing in a student to work as an intern.
We are pleased to announce that AmbITion Scotland can now provide financial support to arts and cultural organisations that host unpaid interns, ensuring that student interns who work without pay do not need to give up anything other than their time in order to do so. Through our digital development programme, we will fund organisations to reimburse student interns for the basic costs of travel and subsistence.
The procedure is simple. Just contact me to get started, and we’ll confirm that we have sufficient capacity to support your organisation. If there is we will request:
- evidence that your organisation has hired an intern (a copy of the contract or similar will suffice)
- an invoice from your organisation with itemised travel and subsistence costs (this can be a single summative invoice or monthly)
Don’t forget there are also external resources you can take advantage of. AmbITion Scotland partnered up with Interface and Third Sector Internships Scotland in order to help students get experience working in the arts, culture and heritage sector in Scotland and to help these organisations access fresh talent. The former can help broker relationships, and the latter can help provide funding for internships.
